Pressure Is Preparing You for Purpose
Most of us spend much of our lives praying for the pressure of uncomfortable situations to disappear.
I understand that pressure hurts, but pressure can also stretch us. It exposes our fears, reveals our weaknesses, and shows us areas where we still need to grow.
One thing I have discovered is that sometimes we need to change the way we pray.
Instead of only asking God to remove the pressure, ask Him to put praise in your mouth, strength in your heart, and wisdom in your spirit while you walk through it. Ask Him to help you stand on hinds’ feet and remain steady even in difficult places.
Pressure does not always destroy you. Sometimes, it reveals your true identity.
A diamond does not become valuable without pressure.
Gold is refined through fire.
A gem is often discovered only after the rock surrounding it has been broken.
This does not mean pain is good or that we should desire suffering. It means that pain can have a purpose, a season, and an expiration date.
I have learned that God does not waste experiences.
Your disappointment can become wisdom.
Your heartbreak can become compassion.
Your setback can become the lesson that helps someone else experience a breakthrough.
So, what if the season you are desperately trying to escape is also the season God is using to prepare you for the purpose you have been praying for?
Real life.
Real struggles.
Real Scripture.
Real prayer.
Real growth.
That is why the power of a gem is revealed under pressure. Without pressure, some things within us may never be brought to the surface.
Do not allow pressure to convince you that your story is over when God may still be writing some of the greatest chapters of your life.
Stay the course.
The journey may not be easy, but God is in the midst of it.
Continue to pray for strength for the journey. Pray for wisdom to understand the season. Pray for grace to keep moving forward.
You are here for a reason.
You are walking through this season for a purpose.
And what feels like pressure today may be preparing you for what you were created to carry tomorrow.
Don’t only pray for the pressure to leave. Pray for the strength to become everything God intends you to be through it.
